Count your blessings!

Just so I make this clear - Benjamin is amazing and he is totally fine. I feel like such a complainer sometimes. I had to take Benny to a doctor's appointment at Primary Children's yesterday. It wasn't the funnest time - it was a 3 hour appointment where they had to take a skin biopsy and then also draw more blood for tests - but when you are at that hospital and see all the other kids there with various problems, you become so grateful and humbled for the insignificant problems your kids have! I saw a couple kids yesterday with some form of cancer - I really don't know what I would do if I had a child with a type of terminal illness. Everyone! Count your blessings if you have healthy kids!!!!!! I know so many people that in my view have more difficult obstacles with their children than I do. So what if Benjamin can't sit up on his own yet - he's healthy!

So I inherited this itch from my mother, who may have inherited it from her mother, that makes me feel like I need to get out of my house and always plan fun activities and do lots of fun things with my kids. I am not one who can just stay at home everyday. I can maybe handle being home for one day, but then I for sure have to do something exciting the next day - or I go crazy. We have done several fun things with friends even over the past few weeks - so I thought I'd post a few pictures. Unfortunately, they are all taken with my phone camera since I always forget my real camera. Thus the poor quality. . . .

Tanner at McDonald's - unfortunately quite a frequent activity. We have 2 very close to our house. . . .

Tanner at McDonald's with his cousin Isaac. They actually held still for a cute picture together!!!

Tanner at the "Kangaroo Zoo." Its a great place to go when the weather is bad - and you're going crazy at home like I was.

More fun at "Kangaroo Zoo." Yeah. . . too bad I had to hold Benjamin the whole time!

This place looks the same, but its actually at "Jumpin' Jacks." Same idea, but actually a little cheaper I found. . .

Tanner and friend Savannah at "Jumpin' Jacks." For some reason they just loved this bouncy basketball hoop thing. Anyway, cute huh?

Tanner LOVES basketball right now. Hhmmmm, I wonder why? March Madness here we come!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Benjamin and friend Dallin on our excursion to Cabella's. These two were born on the same day in the same hospital! Fun times.

Tanner and friend Mikayla making fish faces at the fishies.

Daddy and Benjamin at a BYU basketball game.

My brother Joel and his fiance Claire at a BYU game with us. Aren't they adorable?? We are having a summer of family weddings this year and we are so excited!!!!!!

Tanner spent the day at my grandparent's house yesterday while I was at the hospital. He is riding this old horse that they bought for my mom when she was a tiny little girl! Isn't that awesome? It still works so well - I swear they don't make toys this good anymore. But anyway, he had a ton of fun at "grandma and grandpa greats'" house. (they are his great grandparents) He helped grandpa out in the yard trimming bushes and digging in the dirt. Thats all he needs really. Just some sticks and dirt.

Benjamin and my awesome grandma.

My two little boys and I just chillin' before bedtime. . . yes Tanner is eating a candy necklace and Benjamin is eating my thumb.

You have such cute kids! It is so true that we have to be thankful for our kids good health. Nursing has especially shown me so many awful things that can inflict our kids. I am so thankful for their health and every day that I have with them.

I totally broke down while getting little Natalie's PKU test (a simple heel prick) done last week...I cannot imagine what it felt like to be in the hospital with Benny...but its great to have the experience of seeing others' trials as well. I applaud you Rachel! I cannot wait till Tally is a bit older and we can go out and have adventures! Im TOTALLY stir crazy these days! We're going on three weeks...talk about Cabin Fever!!!
