So I finally started a blog - after months and months of blog-stalking other peoples' super-cute blogs and talking about how I would never have a blog - I started a blog. For some reason I was just feeling a lot of pressure to do it. Everyone kept telling me that I should start one and that it is so fun and all I could think about and say was that I didn't have time! I'm really not sure that I do have time, but I decided that I am going to make time.
I decided that a blog would be a good creative outlet for me. I really got thinking and honestly, I don't have any creative outlets right now. All former "hobbies" or creative activities that I used to enjoy no longer exist in my life! I don't have a piano, I don't sing in a choir, I don't read for leisure very often, I don't throw clay, or even mold clay (except play-doh of course - but that doesn't count), I don't design websites, draw, paint, or even scrapbook! I am quite good at creating really cool new railroad track designs for Tanner's new train though.
But anyway, the point is, a blog might be a good outlet for me. I do like to write - I was an English major after all - and when I email people I notice that my emails get very lengthy - I like to write about real things - not made-up things. So I think a blog will be a fun new activity! And I totally support Spencer in adding to it whenever he wants to or can - which will likely be rare since his time is even more scarce than mine is these days. But anyway I'm kind of excited! I know this is kind of a boring first post but I felt that I needed to express my feelings about this new blog phenomenon that seems to be taking over people everywhere!
Oh, and another thing I really like about blogging is the chance to keep in touch with so many people and really be able to see and read about what is going on in their lives! I have really enjoyed reading other peoples' blogs and looking at all the pictures.
Something I have learned about myself in the past year or so ( I really don't know why it took me so long to realize this) is that I am really a social person. I really like to talk to people about anything and everything and just be with people. I really don't enjoy being alone. I mean alone time is good occasionally, but I always prefer to be with others if at all possible. So anyway, I feel like blogging is another way to be social and communicate with friends and family in a new and fun way.
Anyway - sorry if this is a long post - that may happen with me. I get kind of wordy when I start to type for some reason. So I hope to hear from many of you and keep in touch!!!
Rachel
P.S. I know our blog will never be as cool as the Cooper's blog - theirs is truly hilarious - but they have been slacking lately. . . maybe they had too much fun at Disneyland!!!! I'm jealous.

Hooray! And I have the privilege of commenting first! I am too excited. When you think about it, blogs are a fantastic way of fool-proof scrapbooking, journaling and emailing... you can always change it if you want. I am a fan, just like the gazillions of others who have blogs. Congratulations, I love it already!
Yeah!!! So glad you started a blog. So funny, you mentioned ours. I was just talking to Jeff in the car about him updating ours and he wants me to do it! Figures. I look forward to keeping up with you guys. By the way...did you get the stroller?
I'm excited! It really is a phenomenon!!! It is a great medium to keep in touch with people, I love it!
oh, how did you get that cool background? was it just one of the templates? I'll be impressed if Spencer post, Will never does!
I'm so excited about your blog. I finally gave in a few months ago as well. Your family is adorable! We miss you guys.
Being a professional at playing with Play-Dough isnt such a bad thing is it? Way to give in to peer pressure- Blogging is pretty much the coolest thing. A neat, modern creative outlet. So, keep posting! I look forward to reading lots about the adventures in your life! Congrats on building a house! When do you move in?
So as for what to blog about-basically anything random that pops into your head and then throw in a cute picture of your children and it works!
Or you could write about how the basketball team needs to remember how to play.....
I thought we'd never have a blog either, but we all cave eventually! And I know what you mean, ours is nowhere near as cool or funny as the Coopers either, but then again, neither are we :). Looking forward to reading more - the kids look so cute!
I found your blog thru Naomi's. I had no idea you had two kids now! I'm glad I found you too b/c SOMEHOW we have a family home video of Spencer's??? I have no idea how we got it. We were cleaning out our tapes and we found a blank one. SO we were watching it to see what it was. THere were tons of people that we had never seen before but this familiar voice?... THen he finally turns the camera around and we saw who it was, Spencer Rowe! So email me your address so I can send it to you. Also, Mike's gma lives in Santaquin! Her name is Janice Spainhower. SHe is quite a character if you ever run into her in that small town you will have to tell her you know us. You can come check out our blog if you like too. indianawilkinsfamily.blogspot.com
