I seem to only get around to doing this about every couple weeks so its hard to remember everything! But maybe I can think of a few highlights. . . .
1. A couple weeks ago I took my boys up to Kamas for a few days to spend some time with my mom. She was going to be all alone for the week because my dad and Nate were going on a 50 miler so she asked if we'd want to come up to give her some company and have some fun.
2. The first day we went to Jordanelle Reservoir with some friends and just played on the beach with the kids and had a picnic. It was pretty fun. Benjamin made it a little hard since he was screaming half the time, but besides him it was fun.
Proof of his grouchiness
3. The next day we drove up Davis County way and headed to the Aviation Museum at Hill Air Force Base. We met my friend Mikelle and her kids there who have recently moved up to that area. It was a lot of fun to see them, but once again, Benjamin was an absolute monster. He screamed through almost the whole museum to the point where I just had to finally leave and go outside with him where he continued to scream. That child is so difficult sometimes - especially when he is stubborn and won't eat! Because he then gets really low blood-sugar and gets super ornery (as do I, that's why I eat though) but then he's so stubborn and won't eat until I literally shove food in his mouth and he realizes he wants it. After eating he's always much more pleasant. A three hour nap at my grandparents house afterwards helped though too.
4. So after the museum we headed to my grandparents house in Farmington where we spent a lovely afternoon mostly Benjamin-free while he snoozed. We enjoyed visiting with my grandparents and aunt Shirley and then being treated to some yummy fish tacos at the nearby Mexican restaurant. And as always when we go to their house, the enjoyable walk down the Lagoon trail. It was also fun because one of my mom's aunts and another uncle just happened to stop in for a visit that day whom we don't often see.
5. The next day we mostly just chilled at my mom's house in Kamas. We were worn out from our adventures the two previous days. Me especially after being the only one able to deal with Benjamin physically. Its hard without my husband and only a gimpy grandma!
6. Last Saturday we went to a little cousin's get-together on Spencer's side of the family. It is fun to get to know some of his family - they are such great people and fun to talk to. Plus we had Katie and Nic with us and then spent some time at their place afterwards. Fun evening.
7. I feel like this past week has been slower - if that is possible. Especially for July. But we are just so excited for all of the things happening in our family in August that I'm kind of ready for July to be over!
8. Oh have I mentioned that our basement is actually, finally, almost finished??!!! It really truly is after over a year's worth of work now for my dear husband. Its taken much longer than we ever really imagined, but now with football season in the near future we have a bigger motivation to have things completed down there. Spencer has done all of it himself, so we should have been smarter and known it would take this long. He has done a very good job! He's just finishing up some of the trim, starting some of the flooring, and we'll be ready to paint! Hurray! He has just been spending A LOT of time down there lately. But it will be ready for some movie parties - and probably mostly some big game parties soon! I'll have to post some pictures of it after we paint. . . .
9. Anyone have any pointers for potty-training a child that doesn't walk? Its gonna be interesting but I don't think it can be held off for too much longer. . . .
10. My boys love their uncles. Trevor and Nicole came down last Sunday and I think my boys think that their whole purpose is to play with them. They love it! And Daniel will be home just in time to take over after they are hitched! So excited for the homecoming and the wedding. We're also excited about next week! But more on that later. . . .

LOVE YOUR FAMILY! ALL of them! How fun to just chill with your ma...haha, gimpy grandma! You're too funny!
Why yes! We'd LOVE to come to one of your football parties! :)
Count us in for a football party sometime too! And my 3 year old can walk and I'm still having no luck with potty training. So if you get any good tips, let me know!
