2. We had two fun enrichment activities in our ward last week - Book Group on Tuesday and a Recipe Exchange on Thursday. Fun! I love the women in our ward!
3. Spencer finished getting our fireplace in our basement all hooked up and ready over the weekend! It can actually turn on now. . . pretty exciting. Now if we can ever finish mudding, taping, and texturing. This project is never-ending!
4. Is it just me or was anyone else bothered by how dry the month of January was? I mean hello!! It was January! We're supposed to have some snow storms and blizzards thrown in there at some point! I feel like we're missing out or something. In fact, there is almost no snow left in our front yard and its bothering me. (I'm actually hoping it doesn't warm up too much or my tulips might pop up too early and be ruined!) Hopefully February steps it up because I want more snow. This probably sounds weird but I think its just my upbringing in Antarctica (Kamas) that makes me feel this way.
5. Have I mentioned that I LOVE College Basketball?
6. Benjamin went to the eye doctor last week. I think he might be color-blind. . . . we'll see it might take time to be sure. His vision hasn't changed at all which is good but he is suddenly starting to cross his eyes a lot. It's probably because he won't wear his glasses when he's just playing - which is a lot of the day because they get in his way. But I don't really know what to do about it cause he doesn't like the little strap thing that goes on his glasses either. So anyway, I've pretty much decided that he's going to have to have surgery soon to fix this. Which I'm actually ok with . . . anything to help the kid. This is the first problem for Benjamin that can actually be fixed. So I guess we'll see what the doctor says when we go back in two months!
7. Speaking of Benjamin I think I'm going to have to give up on trying to get normal pictures of him for a while. For some reason whenever he sees the camera he immediately starts to freak out and scream and whine. He thinks he needs to hold it and look at all the pictures on it. I need to somehow figure out a way to get him to understand that he has to try to look cute and pose, and then he can see it. Uhg. He's getting stubborn.
8. There is a new house started behind us and for the past few days there has been this huge trackhoe parked behind our lot - either working or just sitting. My boys have been enthralled by this. They have had a perfect view of its activities by sitting on our kitchen table to see out the window. All day Benjamin says "see trackhoe, see trackhoe" until I let him. But then he won't leave. And then I have to decide if I should be a good mom and sit there with forever so he'll stop whining or leave him up there by himself where he could easily fall off and be hurt? Quite the dilemma.

We listened to the game on Sat and thought of you :)
If I were you I might be concerned about Benjamin's camera freak outs... Joel does the same thing, and he's almost 25.
Maybe camera freak outs are genetic....liked the Monday 8 Rachel!
