I can't believe how long it has been since I've blogged! I missed all of June. And here it is heading towards the end of July! Time really flies I guess. Its almost scary. We have been really quite busy though the past couple months. Things have been good. I want to attempt a re-cap of some things if I can manage. Here goes. . . . . .
1. We enjoyed some time with Spencer's parents at the end of May.
Tanner and Grandma
2. Messy boys. The one in the middle of Tanner happened before it was even 10 am! Sometimes I don't know what to do with these kids. They are great mess makers.
4. We had a great 4th of July but somehow these are the only pictures I took of the day. We did the typical parade in Provo, barbeque at the park, and then fireworks later that night. I love the 4th!
For some reason Tanner wanted nothing to do with UVU Wolverine when he came by during the parade. I don't know why - it was kind of funny. But if it had been Cosmo - it would have been a different story. Funny kid.
Tanner with my cousin Caleb.
This is how Benny enjoyed the parade. We luckily had some shady grass behind us and he and grandpa fell asleep. He wasn't feeling so great that day.
5. A couple days after the 4th we took off for a family reunion up in Island Park. It was pretty fun - Spencer and Tanner enjoyed some good fishing - but it was honestly not the best time for me. First of all four days of camping with two little kids is not so great. Secondly, I ended up being sick for most of the trip. Not fun to be unable to eat and be energyless during a vacation. But it was still fun anyway to see and spend time with a lot family in a beautiful place!
My uncle got a boat for a day out on Island Park Reservoir. Benjamin LOVED the boat. It was a fun time for everyone.
Benny loved playing in the lake - it was just hard for all of us cause he wanted to walk, and bend over and pick up rocks and do all the things Tanner and Max were doing. Its just hard cause he needs help to do everyhting.
My whole family is obsessed with a game called Wacky Six. Its a crazy game. Here is a bunch of em playing at the lake.
We also did go into Yellowstone one day. But we didn't last long. Its just too crowded there and takes so much driving. Plus we felt like we had just done it last summer. So this is my lone picture from there - a buffalo walking down the road causing a huge traffic jam! So annoying.
6. Benjamin finds great joy for some reason in shaking a cup and getting milk all over himself. He thinks its hilarious actually and tries to do it all the time. We let him do it on the grass once and these are some pictures we got of him. I know - it looks really bad with that much milk all over his face.
7. A few weeks ago on a yearly trip to the opthamalogist we learned that Benjamin is EXTREMELY nearsighted. In fact, his eyes are a little bit worse than mine - which is saying a lot because I'm legally blind myself. This kind of freaked me out since I know pretty much exactly how much he can see - which is not a lot. It really helps to explain a lot about him though now that we know he's been pretty much blind for a while. I can't believe I didn't realize it sooner!
So about two weeks ago we got him some cute little glasses and have since been trying to get him used to them. The first week was terrible - he would not leave them on - but this second week has been pretty good. He will leave them on now for long periods of time. I think he is starting to realize how much better he can see with them on and that there is a great big world out there that he has yet to explore. So yeah, I think they will help a ton - and we expect great things out of Benja here in the near future. Plus he looks adorable in them I think! Its almost like he doesn't look right anymore if he isn't wearing them. They just fit him.
Here is my spontaeous photo shoot one day after we got home from somewhere. I've decided spontaneous is the only way to go.
Little Cheeser.
Silly Tanner trying to be like Benny.
8. Spencer and I were able to go see the new Harry Potter movie last night. The design-builder Spencer works with on his project at work rented out a whole theatre at Jordan Commons and gave everyone a bunch of tickets to go see it. It was really cool. We loved the movie. I had a major Harry Potter week trying to re-read book 6 in preparation for the movie and Spencer and I tried to watch all the other movies this week too - didn't quite get through them all - but anyway it was fun. We loved it.

Rachel you have such a cute little family. You look like you are having a great summer and staying busy while you are at it. I hope all is well for you and your family! I love the blogging world. It has been SO much fun to get a glimps into every ones lives. I decided we are all getting old. It had to happen sometime. Can you believe it has been ten years since we have graduated? Wow, time does fly! :)
It was great seeing you last Saturday Rach! Wish we could have caught up more, but alas...
I personally LOVE the milk pics of Benny! He cracks me up! Your family is beautiful and growing and of course, you are too! Keep it up!
Wow, it looks like such fun times (except the traffic jam, of course)! So glad to see all the pictures and hear from you guys. We miss you!
Love the pictures and the update. Sounds like life is staying exciting for you...we'll talk soon!
Cami tries to shake milk out of her sippy cups too, but since they have stoppers it only works on the broken ones - don't know why it is so interesting to her either! The glasses are cute - Mom said Katie was pretty blind as a baby too & did much better once she had her glasses.
He does look great in those glasses! Great pics!
He looks so cute in the glasses! Good luck with them! Christian has broken his glasses or lost the lenses so many times. I hate glasses, but I am glad that he can see!
Rachel! I'm glad I'm not the only one who has been a blog slacker, but I'm happy to see a new post. It looks like you are having a fun summer. I really want to come visit you guys soon!
I love Benny's glasses! They remind me of Max's first pair (same shape). He looks so dang cute with them on. We sure do miss you guys and can't wait to see you in October!
